Research Project: Parameterization of Tillage Effects on Soil Hydraulic Properties and Agrichemical Losses.

Research Faculty: Robert Hill.

1. To determine the effect of tillage practices on soil hydraulic properties and their variations in time and space.
2. To quantify temporal and spatial variability of solute movement through soil profiles.
3. To develop tillage transfer functions which parameterize the effect of soil management practices on soil hydraulic properties and to incorporate these functions into the LEACHM model.
4. To simulate solute movement through soils and compare simulations with and without tillage transfer functions with field-measured solute transport.
